| Roberta Westwood has been researching
new employee orientation since she designed her first in-house program
in 1989.
Since that time, Roberta has designed new employee
orientation programs for several leading, multi-unit Western Canadian
organizations. Roberta has developed and delivered in-house training
for managers on the importance of orientation, and their role in
the orientation process.
More recently, Roberta has developed a prototype
for an online orientation program for a Canadian organization and
has advised on the design of similar programs for several North
American organizations.
Roberta has also developed and implemented a number
of management orientation programs, both face-to-face and online.
Since 1999, Roberta has delivered the "Employee
Orientation: Building Commitment That Lasts" workshop to hundreds
of human resources and training professionals.
Roberta conducts annual research in new employee
orientation practices in Western Canada, and has just completed
the first North American survey on online orientation practices.
Roberta has recently co-authored (with Leanne
Johnson) "Take Orientation Online", an ASTD Info-line
published in December 2002.
Roberta is President of Westwood Dynamics
Learning & Development based in West Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada.
