that have focus on learning and development. Most have free resources
available on their websites and, of course, more extensive resources
available to members.
ASTD (American Society
for Training & Development)
ASTD is the association for training professionals. Membership includes
a wealth of resources beyond what is available on the public website,
Training & Development magazine, training publications and international
conferences. Roberta has written for ASTD's Info-line series, Answer
Geek services and Learning Circuits website.

ISPI (International Association
for Performance Improvement)
The International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), is
an international association dedicated to improving the productivity
and competence of individuals and organizations through a systematic
and reproducible approach call Human Performance Technology (HPT).
ISPI offers an annual conference on best-practices and benchmarking
on the latest performance improvement, human resources, and training
trends and issues.

Development Network)
The OD Network (Organization Development Network) is an association

IAF (International Association
of Facilitators)
The International Association of Facilitators (IAF) is a professional
association for those who are professional facilitators, or those
who are interested in developing in this area. Note that facilitation
in this context refers to facilitators of group planning meetings,
rather than an instructional context. The association holds an annual
conference, offers publications and can help you to find facilitators
in your area.
